To the Residents of the West Licking Joint Fire District
Last fall, on November 5th, 2024, voters were asked to approve a new fire and emergency services levy to assist the District with staying ahead of the rapid growth of the communities it serves. The proposed levy was requesting four (4) additional new mils that, if passed, would have added nine (9) full time firefighters, one (1) administrative position, and support staff.
The Fire District heard your voice and with the levy defeated, the Fire District researched, analyzed, and projected its future, both in growth and its budget. The District has decided to ask our voters to approve an existing three (3) mil replacement levy on May 6th, 2025. This levy will simply allow us to continue its operations as they are at this moment. We take tremendous pride in our response time, training, efficiency, and professionalism that our community deserves.
This replacement of an existing levy will ask homeowners to contribute roughly an additional $52 dollars per year for every $100,000 of the County Auditor’s appraised value.
It’s important to note this is based on your property’s taxable value, NOT the market value or what you might be able to sell it for. If you would like to calculate the specific impact on your property, you can do so by visiting the Licking County Auditor’s website and following these steps:
